A quiet retreat in the countryside – thanks to sound and privacy fence

The North-East district of Wiesbaden is one of the most desirable residential areas in the Hessian state capital. Characterized by expansive green spaces, the district offers a unique quality of life. To the north, rolling valleys, forests, and parkland crisscross the surrounding area. This is where the famous Kurhaus (Kurhaus) with its casino, the Hessian State Theater, and the Neroberg, a traditional vineyard dating back to the 16th century, are located.

Amidst this attractive setting stands the Manthey couple's two-story end-of-terrace house. The 1960s building sits on a 260-square-meter hillside plot—similar to a slice of pie—and is bordered by roads on two sides. One of these roads is a busy federal highway, which pollutes the idyllic garden with traffic noise.

To transform their green oasis into a relaxing retreat, the Mantheys opted for a combination of visual and acoustic screening. They chose the WPC fence Effective, which shields prying eyes, and the soundproofing system Flexible, which reduces ambient noise by up to 26 decibels. This tailor-made solution successfully blocked out distractions and transformed the garden into a protected space for relaxation and tranquility.

Garden extension through garage extension

In addition to redesigning the garden, the on-site parking options needed to be reconsidered. The existing garage was too small for modern vehicles, and public parking spaces were unavailable. Therefore, the clients opted to build a new double garage with an electrical connection, fully integrated into the slope. This allowed for the use of the roof space at garden level, creating an additional terrace.

"By removing the slope, we can now make much better use of the property. The garden area has been expanded enormously," explain the developers.

For the builder, who works for the Becher timber wholesaler in St. Wendel, the choice of material was quickly clear: "Due to its low maintenance requirements, I knew immediately that WPC was the best solution. The possibility of combining the two fence profiles further encouraged him: "The elements not only fit together perfectly, but also harmonize with the new garage door and the overall look of the house."

Challenge of a hillside location – Stepping the fence elements

The greatest technical challenge was the slope of the property. The fence had to be lowered gradually, field by field, over a length of 20 meters to compensate for the different heights.

"The steep slope presented us with a real challenge," says Ricardo Schroll from the landscape contractor Alexander Held. "Since we had to overcome several height differences, the individual fence elements had to be precisely stepped to achieve a harmonious overall appearance. Fortunately, NaturinForm's fence systems are made of high-quality material that can be installed easily and precisely."

Sound and visual protection form a visual unit

For their property, the owners chose Flexible and Effective fence systems in anthracite. Both systems can be easily combined as they are manufactured with the same slats. The panel set is available in four colors, while the aluminum base and corner post elements are offered in brown or anthracite.

The unbrushed WPC slats impress with their elegant wood look and high weather resistance. Unlike untreated wood, they do not fade, but retain their color permanently after the natural color ripening process. This significantly reduces maintenance and ensures a long-lasting, attractive appearance.
