Single-family house Müller
The newly constructed single-family home stands on a small hill overlooking the Swabian market town of Jettingen-Scheppach. Due to its exposed location, the two-story building is constantly exposed to wind and weather. To safely and economically protect the upper floor from the elements, client, planner, and carpenter Roman Müller opted for the innovative Creative facade cladding from NaturinForm. Not only the aesthetic appeal played a role, but also the sustainable and easy-care properties of the wood composite material.

Modern architecture meets long-lasting weather protection
Completed in 2015, this single-family home brings a fresh, urban flair to its rural setting. With its solid construction and high-quality combination of plastered and curtain-walled facades, the two-story townhouse blends strikingly into the landscape. Large, sliding windows in the ground-floor living area open the interior to the surrounding nature and allow plenty of light into the house.
The white-plastered façade, consisting of a solid cross-laminated timber structure and plastered softwood fiber insulation, is adequately protected from the elements by the overhanging upper floor. On the upper floor, the family's private area was visually set back by a nearly wraparound balcony. To protect the façade surfaces, client and carpenter Roman Müller sought a material that would retain the appearance of wood but be significantly more weather-resistant. From his professional experience, he knew how often conventional wooden cladding needed to be replaced or extensively repaired.
With Creative from NaturinForm, he found an innovative facade cladding made of weather-resistant wood composite material that impressed him not only with its material properties but also its visual appeal. To achieve a harmonious balance with the exposed concrete surface of the northern part of the building, the roof covering, and the windows and doors, Müller opted for the color graphite gray.
Elegant facade cladding in natural wood look
Creative is a solid rhombus strip available in small(66 mm coverage) and XL(99 mm coverage). It can be installed both horizontally and vertically and is offered in standard lengths of four and six meters; custom lengths are available upon request.
The profiles are available in the exclusive colors oak, amber, and chestnut brown, as well as graphite gray. The natural wood grain with its organic color gradient and the light brushed surface create a high-quality, elegant appearance – ideal for facade solutions that require both aesthetic appeal and durability.
Easy processing confirmed by the expert
The 195-square-meter ventilated facade was completed within a week. The solid XL rhombus strips, with a coverage of 99 millimeters, were quickly and efficiently installed on a prepared substructure using coordinated accessories. For additional protection of the wall, for example, against driving rain, a vapor-permeable facade fleece was installed between the wall structure and the cladding.
Installation began with the installation of the initial clamp at approximately 15 centimeters from the floor. The first profile was then secured precisely vertically and horizontally. This was followed by the step-by-step installation of the remaining strips using tongue and groove joints: placing the stainless steel mounting clamps on the already installed profile, attaching the clamps to the substrate, and placing the next strip on top. In the corner area, the profiles were precisely mitered and fitted. The facade lighting could also be installed directly on the profiles without any special measures.
Roman Müller is enthusiastic about both the ease of processing and the robustness of the system: "The strips can be processed like wood, but are more flexible and significantly more durable. Damage due to improper handling or external influences is virtually impossible with this facade cladding."
Facade and balcony – all in one
For client and planner Roman Müller, it was a key concern to coordinate the design of the façade and balcony covering. The consistent choice of materials for the balcony, façade, and parapet cladding visually sets the upper floor apart from the white plastered ground floor, creating an almost floating impression. This impression is further enhanced by the glass balcony parapet, which allows for an unobstructed view of the landscape.
Thanks to the Natureline product line, they were even able to find the perfect balcony flooring. Here, too, the outstanding material properties were convincing: Cleaning is straightforward – just water and a scrubbing brush are all it takes. Furthermore, the planks don't splinter or crack due to weathering, and offer high slip resistance and extreme durability.
Economical and durable
In addition to quick installation, weather protection, color fastness, and durability were key criteria for choosing a wood composite facade. With its tested and certified wood material – consisting of approximately 70 percent wood fibers and 30 percent polymer – NaturinForm offers a particularly durable and easy-care composite material.
The facade solutions benefit from the optimal material properties of the wood-plastic blend: Thanks to the polymer content, the profiles are weatherproof, low-maintenance, and durable. Should cleaning be necessary, water is sufficient; for heavier soiling, a high-pressure cleaner can be used.
