The new "Piazza Family" by Naturinform: premium co-extruded decking boards "Made in Germany"

Naturinform has been investing approx. 1 million euros in their northern Bavarian production site in Redwitz a. d. Rodach over the last 12 months for a production line to manufacture co-extruded decking boards. The company is one of the leading international technology experts for the manufacture of durable, easy to clean and recyclable WPC products which adds to their comprehensive range of mono-extruded boards with the new boards. The decking boards from the Piazza Family have been available in specialist shops since January.

With the new Piazza Family, Naturinform, one of the international technology leaders for the manufacture of wood composite materials, launched their own product line of co-extruded WPC decking boards. To this end, the medium-sized business based in Redwitz a. d. Rodach in Germany invested over 1 million euros in their production site. The product line comprises the decking boards "Piazza Prima", "Piazza Mondo" and "Piazza Pro" which cover any and all requirements on terrace flooring that products for outdoor areas have to meet today – from commercial large-scale projects to your private comfort zone. The boards are durable, weather-resistant as well as aesthetically appealing and sustainable, since they can be recycled and reused in many ways through Naturinform's internal recycling system.

"With the Piazza Family, we have combined our technical qualification and our expertise for resource-optimised behaviour in this new product line. Our customers ask for solutions that are visually appealing and make their life easier. The decking boards of the Piazza Family fulfil all these desires. When we first presented our products in the trade and at Branchentag Holz in Cologne, we were already able to impress our customers with the near-natural look in combination with the excellent functional properties", said Pia Hobeck, Managing Director of Naturinform, happily.

Innovative co-extrusion for extreme loads

Their 360 degree all-round coating protects the Piazza Family boards against moisture, UV radiation, stains, and scratches. Moreover, it ensures high colour stability. The core of the co-extruded solid profiles is made of high-quality wood composite materials.

Low-maintenance, colour-stable and easy to clean

Naturinform designed the Piazza Family for modern daily outdoor applications: Thanks to the stain-resistant surface, the boards can be cleaned easily with water or a high-pressure cleaner.

The UV-resistant coating permanently protects the near-natural colours from losing colour. This way, the boards will keep their aesthetic aura over many years. Sanding, painting or oil-impregnating are not necessary. This is what sets the WPC boards by Naturinform apart from common wood products for outdoor areas. The company provides a guarantee of up to 25 years for the boards of the Piazza Family.

Natural wood look and safe surface

The Piazza boards compel with their genuine wood grain combining the characteristics of solid wood with the benefits of modern composite materials. There are no splinters that may break away, so stepping on the boards barefooted will remain comfortable even in the long run.

Installation with zero-degree slope and easy assembly in the system

The boards of the Piazza Family can be installed on open, well-ventilated terraces with a zero-degree slope. This constitutes a considerable advantage for planning and assembly as well as for the renovation of existing areas. The concealed fastening of all boards of the Piazza Family is effected with the tried and tested Naturinform bracket system allowing for installation without screw heads being visible. Furthermore, the complete installation system by Naturinform includes a large choice of accessories – from substructure profiles and fastening element to subsoil and height adjustment materials as well as end profiles, drainage and ventilation solutions and LED ground spotlights for atmospheric light accents. Using the suitable accessories in the system contributes to the durability of the terrace.

The Piazza Family in detail

"Piazza Prima" – compact, robust and elegant

The "Piazza Prima" board from the co-extruded decking system range by Naturinform is particularly suited for private outdoor areas. Its surface is embossed with a fine wood grain. With a board height of only 19 mm, it combines all quality characteristics of its siblings: 360 degree coating, natural wood look and ease of maintenance. The colour choices range from Nutmeg, Oak Brown and Royal Elm to Nordic Ash, Graphite Grey and Streaked Ebony. Thanks to its lean geometry, the "Piazza Prima" is designed for terraces with loads common for private terraces.

"Piazza Mondo" – the all-rounder for versatile applications

"Piazza Mondo" combines classic design with high functionality. It is available in formats of 140 x 21 mm and is thus a universal all-rounder – perfect for private terraces, restaurant areas or public facilities.
Its resistant, easy to clean surface keeps its appeal even under heavy use. Besides high UV resistance and colour stability, it boasts a broad choice of colours: Cream White (unicolored), Ivory, Californian Oak, Oak Brown, Ipé Nuances, Royal Elm, Graphite Grey and Streaked Ebony.

"Piazza Pro" – the Premium board for highest demands

"Piazza Pro" has been designed specifically for applications in heavily frequented areas. Its very robust 360° coating reliably protects the solid profile against moisture, radiation, stains, and scratches. With a thickness of 25 mm and a width of 140 mm, it is perfectly suited for recreational facilities, hotel terraces, restaurant areas or public spaces. The colour range comprises Ivory, Californian Oak, Royal Elm, Silver Teak and Streaked Ebony – all UV-resistant, natural shades keeping their brilliance in the long run.

Sustainable design that can be recycled

Sustainability has always been one of the main focuses of Naturinform. The company relies on cascade usage of wood fibres in the manufacture of their products, thus considerably expanding the usage cycles of the precious raw material. As with any other board from the Naturinform range, also the Piazza Family is made of the same high-quality, recyclable WPC material, where industrial wood fibre residues are upcycled and combined with an environment-friendly polymer material. This results in durable profiles reducing the consumption of green wood and promoting environmentally friendly building. All products of the company are certified according to durability class 1 and therefore have a durability of at least 25 years.

With its internal Re-Form recycling box, the company also offers free return of dismantled Naturinform boards and processing leftovers. The returned materials will be recycled and used for new WPC products – this way, the raw materials will remain in the material cycle for up to 625 years.

Conclusion: A new generation for sustainable outdoor design

With the Piazza Family, Naturinform launches a new product line combining aesthetics, durability and sustainability. The combination of innovative co-extrusion, high-quality materials and a simple installation system makes the Piazza boards an ideal choice for planners, architects, specialist dealers, and public and private clients setting great value on durability and design.
