NATURinFORM produces climate-neutrally

NATURinFORM was awarded the ‚Climate-neutral company‘ certificate by the TÜV NORD at the Branchentag Holz, the wood industry fair, in Cologne. NATURinFORM is thereby the first German manufacturer to produce WPC patio decks and facade profiles in a climate-neutral way.

At the wood industry fair in Cologne, Naturinform was awarded the TÜV NORD’s certificate, comfirming that the company produces climate-neutrally. The TÜV NORD thereby confirms that ´on the basis of the calculated carbon footprint, the verified amount of CO2 emissions is compensated by appropriate certificates (Climate Change Standard TN-CC 020). Therefore NATURinFORM is permitted to use the TÜV NORD stamp ‚Climate-neutral company‘‘. This means that all of the Franconian company‘s climate-relevant greenhouse gases in their carbon footprint – from energy consumption (electricity, petrol, oil), ressource supplies, business trips, as well as commuting employees in 2018 – were balanced, and, in cases that it was not possible to reduce them further, climate protection certificates were purchased to compensate these completely.

NATURinFORM sees its obligation to act climate-neutrally.

As a wood processing company, Naturinform realises its responsibility for environment and climate protection in detail. Striving for sustainability is a driving factor with all product decisions, be it when choosing raw materials, product utilisation, processing and recycling, but also in production, sales and distribution. That meant it was basically the obvious `next step‘ for the company to adapt all processes to make them climate-neutral, and, in cases where it was not possible to reduce carbon emissions, to compensate these. By doing so, Naturinform has managed to create a completely climate-neutral company – from raw material purchasing, through production, right up to commuting employees.

Climate-protection projects compensate carbon emissions

TÜV NORD confirmed closure of certificates from two climate protection projects that benefit from compensation. The projects support on the one hand drinking water supplies in Ruanda, so that, among others, no timber needs to be used to boil the water; on the other hand measures against illegal deforestation and damage to the woods in a Brasilian rain-forest project.

Sustainable and recyclable products for outdoor areas

Naturinform produces its sustainable and environmentally-friendly tested and certified decks and profiles for use outdoors from wood composite material at a ratio of ca. 70 to 30 percent wood to polymere. The products are made of 100 percent PEFC-certified, domestic wood in combination with an environmentally-friendly polymere. Other advantages that these products have are that they are damp resistant, low on maintenance, they stay in shape, are sturdy, as well as resistant to fungal decay and infestation. Additionally, this material is 100 percent recyclable and reusable. After use, the decks can be returned to the company and, if possible, are fed back into the production cycle. Naturinform surfaces are exclusively produced in Upperfranconian Redwitz an der Rodach. `Made in Germany‘ stands for certified quality and the utilisation of the highest quality raw materials on site in Germany.
